MRS TARA GANDHI BHATTACHARJEE DECORATED

Former Chairperson of Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti and Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust, Mrs Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, a granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, was conferred the Insignia of “Officier des Arts et des Lettres” at an Investiture Ceremony held in the Embassy of France in Delhi on the 20th April, 2016.

The Order of Arts and Letters is an honorary French decoration that is managed by the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of France. It recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves by their unique contributions to the fields of literature, art and humanity and culture whereby they have benefited their country, France and the world.

The Kasturba Trust (Delhi branch) has been awarded with the “Rashtriya Bal Kalyan Purskar 2012”.

The Pratinidhi of Delhi branch Smt. Sheela Barun received the award from Smt. Krishna Tirath, Minster of Women and Child Welfare. Under this award, Trust has received Rs. 3 Lakhs and letter of honour.jpg 1 001

The programme was held on 19th Nov. 2013 on the occasion of birth day of Late Smt. Indira Gandhi during Vatsalya Mela at INA Delhi Haat..

On this occasion Smt. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, Chairperson, Smt. Surender Saini and Smt. Sukanya Bharatram, Trustees of Kasturba Trust were also present.

Smt. Reema Nanavaty awarded with Padma Shri

 

The honourable Trustee of Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust Smt. Reema Nanavaty received the Padma Shri award from the president of India Pranab Mukherjee.

The awards were announced in January this year and conferred at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in a ceremony in New Delhi on 20.04.2013.

Smt. Nanavaty, also leads "Self Employed Women’s Association (Sewa)", works for economic development of seventeen million rural families across India. Born on May 22, 1964 in Ahmedabad, Nanavaty graduated in science from Gujarat University and was selected to IAS services of Government of India.

She is credited with building popular brands of Sewa like Rudi and Hansiba of organic food products and fashion apparels respectively. Over the last decade, she has helped victims of 2001 earthquake and 2002 communal riots in association with the state and government of India under projects like Jeevika and Shantha respectively. Sewa currently works in war-torn countries of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka to rehabilitate war widows and their families.

 

 KASTURBA GANDHI NATIONAL MEMORIAL TRUST AWARDED WITH 23rd INDIRA GANDHI  AWARD FOR NATIONAL INTEGRATION 

Shri Dhirubhai Mehta, Chairman, KGNMT, received the award from Mrs. Sonia Gandhi in presence of Prime Minister & holding Trustee of the Trust, Dr. Manmohan Singh on 31 October 2008

 

Honours of Smt. Shobhana Ranade, Trustee:

Senior Trustee Smt. Shobhana Ranade is among the 31 eminent personalities to have been conferred the country's third highest civilian honour, Padma Bhushan in year 2011.

 

Smt Shobhana Ranade also received the Jamnalal Bajaj Award 2011 for her Outstanding Contribution in Development and Welfare of Women and Children.

 

For her special contribution in the field of service, Smt. Shobhana Ranade, Trustee has also been honoured with a Ravindranath Tagore prize and pride of Pune University.

 

Smt. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee honoured with special award in Italy.

 

In her address to the joint meetings of press reporters and intellectual during her three weeks visit to Italy, vice chairperson of the Trust Smt. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee highlighted the services of the Trust. The learned personalities impressed with her thoughts and honoured her and gifted a beautiful "Golden Apple" by organizing a function. The vice chairperson dedicated this Golden Apple to Central Office, Kasturba Trust, Katurbagram, Indore. It is a matter of pride for the Trust

 

Honour of Smt. Shevanta Chouhan, Pratinidhi - Maharashtra Br.:

 

For her human service work performed for rural women and children, Smt. Shevanta Chouhan, Pratinidhi, Kasturba Trust - Maharashtra Br. honoured with "Shri Achyut Apte Award 2005", a renowned social worker and sarvodayee thinker. In a prize, she got Rs. 25000/-, which she has donated to the Maharashtra Br.

 

Senior Trustee of the Trust Smt. Shobhana Ranade honoured with Punyashloka Ahilya Devi Reward and greeted by village Saswad.

 

Women & children department, Pune, government of Maharashtra honoured Smt. Shobhana Ranade, Trustee, Kasturba Trust with Punyashloka Ahilya Devi Reward and greeted by village Saswad on her attaining the age of 81 years. She was given Rs. 1.00 Lakh in form of reward. She fixed deposited this amount and givento Maharashtra Branch and desired that the Maharashtra Branch should utilize the interest of this amount as per their requirement.

 

Dr. Karunakar Trivedi, Trustee of the Trust honoured with "Mahavir & Mahatma Award, 2005"

 

Times Foundation, New Delhi established Mahavir Award for the first time in the country jointly with Federation of Jain Educational Institute & Indian Jain Organization. Distinguished Social Worker of Indore Shri Babulalji Patodi, Shri Neminath Jain and Dr. S.P. Jain honoured Dr. Karunakar Trivedi with this first reward on 22 April 2005 by giving shawl and Shrifal. This award is given to him for adopting the life style of Mahavir and Mahatma Gandhi and so extend it at social level.

 

Sushri Radha Bhatt, Secretary, Kasturba Trust felicitated by an award of "World Woman 2001".

Sushri Radha Bhatt, Secretary, Kasturba Trust felicitated by an international award of "World woman 2001" by America Biological Institute (U.S.A.) as reliable example for completing her destructive & worthy services as also dedicated life for whole society.

 

Maharashtra branch felicitated an award of Ahilya Devi Holkar.

Maharashtra branch of Kasturba Trust was felicitated by an award of "Ahilya Devi Holkar" (1998-99) on 29th November 2002. This award has been received for the excellent work done at Dharni branch of trust. This award inclusive of Rs. Ten Thousand, shield of Ahilyabai, one certificate & one shawl was given by the chief minister of Maharashtra to Smt. Shewanta Chouhan, Pratinidhi, Kasturba Trust in a function organized at Pune.

 

Smt. Kanta Tyagi, Pratinidhi, Kasturba Trust, Niwali branch – I.M.C. Ladies Wing felicitated by Janki Devi Bajaj Award.

Smt. Sushma Swaraj, Minister for Information & Broadcasting felicitated Smt. Kanta Tyagi, Pratinidhi, Kasturba Trust, Niwali favoured with awards from children welfare to Padamshri of state & national level, by I.M.C. ladies wing Janki Devi Bajaj award on 7th January 2003 at Mumbai for increasing inclination of rural women towards business. An award of Rs. 1.5 Lacs presented in award.

 

Smt. Hema Baideo, who shouldered responsibilities of trust since 1946, made the rural service centres Assam, Meghalay, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram of eastern part strong under all conditions, publisher of Assam Vishwa Nagari magazine, Guide for non violent revolutions, felicitated on 21st January 2003 at Mumbai by Diwali Ben Mohanlal Mehta award for her long dedicated services. Smt. Hema Kokati was presented one comprehensive excellence certificate allowing a respectable amount of Rs. Three Lakhs.

 

Smt. Manorama Shrivastava, Pratinidhi, Kasturba Trust, Bihar branch felicitated by Diwali Ben Mohanlal Mehta Award.

Provincial office of Bihar branch, Kasturba Trust is situated at Pusaroad of Samastipur district of sensitive area of Bihar. Smt. Manorama Shrivastava is managing "Gram Seva Kendras" successfully since 1970 in this area which is fully violent. She even after unfavourable conditions, she has not shrank from her services and encouraging Sevikas.

 

To come out from fearful atmosphere in the year 1999 to create friendly environment "Padyatras" were turned out in nearby 10 villages pass on love & emotion of brotherhood to house to house and still engaged by singing songs of courtesy & immortal. For those efforts, she has been awarded Diwali Ben Mohanlal Mehta Award on 21st January 2003 at Mumbai and a respectable amount of Rs. 3 Lakhs has been presented to her in from of award.

Year 2007-08

 

·         State Branch of Tripura have organized women who were self inspired for maintaining peace in disturbed areas and have worked for inculcating hope for peace. The state branch of Tripura for this remarkable work has been honored "Pranab Nanda" award by Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi. The award was received by Mrs. Rajlaxmi Devi, state branch's Ex-Pratinidhi in a function organized in Delhi in October 2007.

·         The senior worker of Tripura branch Mrs. Seema Sinha has been conferred the 'National foundation for India's fellowship' Award for 2007-08. This award was presented to Mrs. Seema Sinha on 22 May 2008 in a function organized by TAS in Kumari Mata Ashram, Assam.

·         Smt. Shevanta Tai Chouhan got Purandar Bhushan Puraskar - Purandar Nagari Cooperative Society Saswad and Sopan Kaka Coperative Bank Pune in their joint venture conferred award to Mrs. Shewanta Tai Chouhan for her dedicated Service on 2 December 2007. The award included a moto and 11,111 Rs. packet to her. The award was given by Mr. Shivajirao, the vice chancellor of Bharti Vidyapeeth.

·          Smt. Shewanta Tai Chouhan also received the Ba Bapu award by Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde the cabinet minister.

·         Hon'ble Trustee Smt. Shobhana Ranade got felicitated by the Govt. of India, Rajiv Gandhi Service Award on 14th November 2007 for her dedicated services to society. She also was awarded by International Peace Centre, Pune and was given 'Man Patra'. She was also awarded by Ravindra Nath Tagore Literacy Award in Shegaon.
